**Key findings:**
1. **Christopher Harborne's £5m undisclosed gift to Nigel Farage**: Christopher Harborne, a billionaire with a ~12-13% stake in Tether (the world's largest stablecoin issuer), gave Nigel Farage a £5 million personal gift in 2024. This gift was **not disclosed** to parliamentary authorities and only became public after *The Guardian* reported it in April 2026. The Parliamentary Standards Commissioner launched a formal investigation into Farage's "failure to register an interest." Farage argued the gift was "purely private" and unrelated to his parliamentary activities, but the standards watchdog is investigating whether it should have been declared.
2. **Undisclosed crypto donation to Reform UK**: According to *The Observer* reporting (cited by Decrypt), Reform UK received the UK's first-ever crypto donation in October 2025, but no declaration was made to the Electoral Commission.
3. **Ben Delo**: Hong Kong-based BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo donated £4m to Reform UK. His donations were declared to the Electoral Commission, so these were disclosed rather than undisclosed.
4. **Broader pattern**: Multiple reputable sources (BBC, The Independent, Channel 4 News, Decrypt, Byline Times) confirm that Harborne — described universally as a "crypto billionaire" — made a £5m personal gift to Farage that was not disclosed, leading to a parliamentary standards investigation and a report to the National Crime Agency.
The claim is accurate. There have indeed been undisclosed donations from crypto billionaires, most notably the Harborne-Farage £5m gift, which was not disclosed and is the subject of an active parliamentary investigation.

From speech
I echo the sympathies expressed by the Prime Minister for the families recently bereaved, particularly the family of Henry Nowak. Corruption appears to be endemic in donations to British political parties. We have had years of Conservative cronyism. We have had allegations of embezzlement in Scotland. We have had undisclosed donations from crypto billionaires and foreign oligarchs. We have even had freebies dished out to some of the hon. Members sitting on the Labour Benches. The Government have already cracked down on some specific sources of donations that favour their political opponents, such as crypto and foreign money. Will the Prime Minister now commit to restoring the faith of the British public in the integrity of our British democracy by putting a cap on all political donations?
