“Nigel Farage's father is now very busy.”
Reasoning & Evidence21 Jul 2026
The claim that Nigel Farage's father, Guy Justus Oscar Farage, was "very busy" around December 2011 is corroborated by public evidence. Guy Farage was born in November 1935, making him approximately 76 years old in December 2011, consistent with Farage's statement that his father was 75 and had "just retired" from stockbroking. He was actively involved with the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum, which he co-founded in 1965, serving as chairman of the trustees for years including the 2011 period, as confirmed by a 2018 interview transcript archived at the Bishopsgate Library. The NetVol source claiming he died in 2001 is contradicted by the 2018 interview, genealogy records on Geni.com, and Companies House records showing his involvement in COEPTUS 2008 LLP from 2008 onward. The Mapping Museums project at Birkbeck, University of London, also interviewed him in 2018 about his museum work. While "very busy" is subjective, the available evidence supports that Guy Farage was actively engaged in regimental and museum activities around that time.

Oh yes. In fact, both of my parents are very dynamic people – they get involved, they get stuck in. My father has just retired – quite good to be stockbroking still at the age of 75 – and now he’s very busy being president of his regiment and things like that. He is an extremely colourful character, and certainly in the City was extremely well known. I talk a little bit in the book about some of the problems he had…
